Hi everyone, Congratulations on the Region of the Year Award! You are a shining example to the membership! At the conference I spoke with Agnes Graber (a longtime SGNA member). Through SIGNEA she does a medical mission trip to Jordan. I had just purchased the new 4th Edition of the Core Curriculum and she is collecting old cores to give to the nurses in Jordan. I would have thought that with all the oil money over there they would have up to date products but not so. She related the nurses she met are hungry for anything we can give them and our old books are especially valuable. They speak and read English and she offered to get the books to them if I sent mine to her. Wouldn't it be a good idea to extend this to our AZ membership? We could use the website and newsletter to get the info out. Postage is so expensive that maybe we could ask the vendors to carry them from the facilities to one location and then ASGNA could pay the postage to have them sent to Agnes. You may have other ideas too. I am embarrassed to admit my old core is from 1993, but I'm still donating it. The third world countries need all the expertise they can get, even if it is old. Looking forward to your feedback. Georgette If you haven't seen the new 4th edition check it out at the marketplace. I also purchased a Pocket Guide Level one which is a good resource. |
